PALM DESERT, CA — A person was transported to a hospital with burn injuries Friday after a vehicle towing a trailer burst into flames in Palm Desert.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department received a report of the vehicle fire at 9:23 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Washington Street and Varner Road.
Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle towing a trailer fully enveloped in flames and contained the blaze approximately 20 minutes later, according to officials.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
A separate crash on westbound Interstate 10 at Cook Street was also reported around the same time by Caltrans. According to the agency, the #1 and #2 lanes were blocked for an "unknown duration."
Just before noon, the agency announced all lanes had reopened. There were no reports of serious injuries.
