WAUKEGAN, IL — The Highwood man who died Tuesday after driving off Interstate 94 near Northbrook likely suffered a medical event that led to the one-car crash, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office. Jason Raynor, 42, was found behind the wheel of his SUV in 3 feet of water after a report of a one-car crash near Dundee Road around 3:30 p.m., according to the coroner's office and state police. Northbrook Fire Department personnel rushed him to the emergency room at Highland Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to the coroner's office preliminary results of an autopsy conducted Wednesday suggest that Raynor had "no significant injuries" from the crash. Raynor is a former NFL strength and conditioning coach who has trained athletes in the NBA and MLB and consulted for various companies, according to the website of the company he founded in 2012.
