FRANKFORT, IL — Two Frankfort men were arrested Tuesday and charged with conspiracy to receive and dispose of stolen property across state lines, according to a new release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois. Ziad I. Zayed, 46, and his brother Mosas I. Zayed, 33, used their store in Crestwood — Crestwood Electronics Inc. — and other businesses to "knowingly purchase stolen electronic devices and other merchandise, re-package the items, and then ship them to re-sellers out of state and overseas," according to the news release. Some of the items "fenced" include laptops, fitness tracking devices and digital cameras that were reported stolen last year from railcars near Chicago, according to the release. The Zayeds are scheduled for a detention hearing Tuesday. For more news and information like this, subscribe to the Frankfort Patch for free.
