Ascent Buildings has immediate openings for hiring Material Handlers/Loaders for their facility in Portland, TN. Positions are for 1st and 2nd shifts. Starting pay $17 to $21 an hour. Paid EVERY week Excellent Benefits: • Benefits start on your first day. • 4 weeks paid time off (Vacation & Sick Days) • 10 Paid Holidays each year. • Paid Weekly Position Requirements: • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Must be 18 years or older • Prior experience preferred • Forklift and Crane Operation Experience • Ability to lift 25 lbs. • 2 – 5 yrs. Experience with forklifts, cranes, hoists, and loading trucks Responsibilities: Move raw and finished material from storage or production areas, stock work stations, loads trailers and tracks material hand or using fork trucks or other equipment. • Sort product before loading and unloading trucks and trailers. • Attach identifying tags to material or mark them with identifying information. • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. • Stack material in locations using pallets or boards. • Record numbers of units handled or moved. • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported. • Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads. • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected. • Adjust controls to guide, position or move equipment, such as cranes, booms, forklifts, or cameras. • Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging. • Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use. • Follow all safety policies and procedures. • Forklift certification, crane/hoist certification Apply online
