Join the City of Maitland this Saturday for the Merry Maitland celebration, kicking off with the grand opening of the new Independence Square next to City Hall on Independence Lane.
City officials and guests will have a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. Stroll the park and enjoy music from Lauren Carder Fox. Come meet chef Julie Casey – owner of the soon-to-open Outpost restaurant in downtown Maitland – who will serve up tasty treats like snickerdoodle cookies, pralines, hot cocoa and tea. Get a commemorative, reusable bag, while supplies last.
Sanford Brewing Company takes over Independence Lane starting at 5 p.m. with music from D.J. Sisco and street vendors such as the Maitland Chocolate Factory. Musician Kelly Jarrard takes over entertainment at 7 p.m. Theater troupe Phantasmagoria will perform starting at 6 p.m.
Independence Lane is decked out with sparkling holiday lights. Enjoy restaurants including Sanford Brewing, Houndstooth Kitchen and Eatery, MidiCi Neapolitan Pizza, Boku Sushi, 407 Gelato, Subway and Starbucks.
Public parking is available in the lower levels of the garage inside of Maitland City Centre. Follow the signs to enter the garage from Horatio Avenue and Orlando Avenue. More parking is available off of Packwood Avenue and Horatio Avenue.
Activities are socially distanced. Please wear face covering. Vehicles should not park on Independence Lane after 2 p.m. Saturday.
