We are seeking a full-time handyman to work in both vacant and occupied apartment buildings we manage in the San Fernando Valley and West Los Angeles neighborhoods. EMPLOYMENT TYPE • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday; overtime available COMPENSATION • Salary to $25+/hour, depending on experience. Excellent benefits including Company aid 100% medical insurance, paid vacation and sick days, 401k, and multiple paid holidays per year EXPERIENCE NECESSARY • Carpentry work • Troubleshoot and plumbing repairs • Safety and security systems (lighting, locks, smoke/CO2 alarms, etc) • Electrical experience (GFI replacement, ceiling fan install, light fixture install, etc) • Installing fixtures including doorknobs, handles, mirrors, toilets, doors, etc • Attention to detail and high regard for quality • Follows safety practices, policies, and procedures • Inspect work of others for quality, completion, safety and compliance • Disclosure: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice REQUIREMENTS • Proven experience as a handyman, including skills with tools • Valid CA Driver’s license, good driving record and automobile insurance • Must be available for emergencies, will pay overtime • Must provide their own vehicle PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to lift, pull, push 75 pounds, bending, standing and/or walking for long periods. This may be regular activity depending on materials needed in apartments or on outside projects COVID-19 POLICY • Proof of vaccination or valid request for medical/religious exemption required INTERVIEW PROCESS • Paid 3-hour skills test to determine aptitude and maintenance ability. Skills test example includes, a) installation of ceiling fan to test aptitude of electrical skills b) installation of GFI to test electrical skill set c) installation of garbage disposal to test plumbing skills and d) installation of door handle with re-key of lock to test maintenance skills Kindly reply to this email with you resume.
