Requirements Being a Master Diagnostic Technician at P&M Automotive can be demanding but even more rewarding. Motorists are depending on your diagnostic assessments and repair work for the safety and dependability of their livelihood. As such, to be considered for this sought-after position, please have the following: • Education- High School diploma or equivalent. • Experience- Extensive knowledge in all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance with 1-2 years of related work history. • Aptitude- Proficiency with computers and diagnostic equipment and software, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Credentials- Must have and maintain ASE master tech certification status • Screening- As a repair facility contracted by multiple companies, our technicians must have a valid driver’s license with a record in good standing, pass a criminal background check, and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Responsibilities As Master Technician for P&M Automotive, you and your quality work represent our company. When motorists bring their vehicles to our facility for repair or maintenance, they are trusting us, and trusting you. As such, your responsibilities include: • Collaborate- You will be communicating regularly with service advisors, and fellow technicians. As such, transparency and excellent communication is vital. • Diagnosing- At times there will be vehicles presenting with more complex diagnoses required. You will have the opportunity to challenge your skills in solving those difficult puzzles • Strategizing- Economics can be a factor for most. Some customers will be able to have all recommendations completed at once, many will require finesse and prioritizing. It is incumbent that you clearly and effectively prioritize work with safety being the most important factor. • Detail- Here at P&M we give our customers the tools to make their own informed decisions based on thorough and truthful recommendation.
