What is it with this mindset? If it was said by a "liberal" then it must be a lie? Really? First, while Trump's support from the military was considered "high" in 2016, it has seen a steady decline during the 4 years he was in office. Funding the military is one thing, but to make statements like (paraphrasing) "if you died or were captured you were a loser" in reference to McCain didn't sit too well. Nor did his refusal to lay a wreath in France, or the Arlington fiasco. And of course the fact that he hired former military people, subsequently fired them, then talked shit about them didn't go well either. And the fact that the Joint Chiefs of Staff didn't trust him at the end speaks volumes as to what the military thought of Dump. They saw him as a threat, not a supporter. And lastly, the $1.2 billion in funding for the VA that he took to "build his wall" was the final straw. I know it's hard to have your perception changed, but alas he wasn't well-liked throughout the ranks. Members of the officers ranks actually had him lower than the enlisted ranks but both categories were in the 30% range. So the OP was correct in the assessment that he wasn't well-liked. And his support dropped throughout his presidency. For reference check out various articles including ones on Time.com. And I know some conservatives who also know this so I won't make a blanket statement that "all conservatives lie". Just the very insecure and frightened ones. re Trump's support of the military and veterans (bernal heights) © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap What is it with liberals? Are they not capable of doing any research to back up their lies or do they knowingly lie for political reasons? Politifact, hardly a conservative organization, ruled that President Trump's promise to help those who serve and have served was a promise kept. The VA was funded at 183 billion in 2017 and during Trump's term, increased to 220 billion. He also asked congress and they responded by allowing veterans who use the VA to access private providers when they couldn't go to a VA hospital due to distance from one or physically unable to go access one. So, as usual, we are faced with another liberal lie. They just can't seem to tell the truth and it all can't be blamed on their ignorance.
