Gigging R&B, Funk Band Looking for a Drummer

Our current drummer is leaving us in Jan to pursue an opportunity to go on the road in Nashville. Our band is fairly new but we are all very seasoned musicians and have high standards. Our current line-up consists of: - Female lead/backup singer - Female lead/backup singer/percussionist - Female backup singer/keyboards - Female alto saxophonist - Male bassist - Male guitarist We hope to add a male vocalist in the future. Rehearsals are weekly in the Los Gatos Mountains in an open door converted garage but that may change in a few months to a rehearsal studio in Campbell (note that equipment cannot be stored). Our repertoire includes Old School R&B, Funk, Disco, and Motown dance/party music covers that should be played close to the original recordings or with a funk groove. Having the ability to use a click track and program the click to our setlist to move quickly from song to song is desirable, but not mandatory if you have accurate timing/tempo and a good feel for the rhythm. We try to make rehearsals as productive as possible which means doing homework and coming in prepared to work out fine details of the arrangement. We are seeking someone reliable, open minded without negative attitudes or alcohol/drugs/drama issues. We are not interested in a “hired gun”.
