Description

Picture is of one of my baby girls when she was little. 😊 I'm looking for some more female pet rats, the last few years has sadly seen a few of my oldest girls grow old and pass on. Leaving me with one 3 year old, and one 9 month old (her litter mate I got with her months ago that I was assured was sweet and hand raised since birth, actually turned out to be VERY aggressive and gave me several scars before I returned her. The breeder tried to refuse to believe me about it even with hospital documentation. Rat bite fever sucks.) So I'm looking for at least 2-3 new younger girls to join them so the one under a year old doesn't get lonely when her last cage mate passes. 😢 Feel free to ask me any questions, but basic info, I have a double critter nation cage that my girls are in as well as a single critter nation cage and a second same-size one sitting empty from when I had more before. So I have clean and empty quarantine cages for the new additions. I feed oxbow or mazuri, whichever is cheapest, I have a good safe air right storage bin that I mix it in. They also get fed a mix of rat safe dehydrated fruit, veggies, seeds, and grains as additions. Fresh veggies, cooked egg, unseasoned chicken and the like are also given a few times a week extra. If you have any questions beyond that, feel free to ask! Also please include your desired rehoming fee, if any in your reply to me. Likewise please include if you can deliver nearby or if I'd have to pickup near you. And... No aggressive rats, please!!! The last pair I got, they were supposedly "hand raised since birth" but one turned out highly aggressive, please please don't do this, even if you are an experienced breeder, it can and does mask temperament and hormonal issues! In all my years keeping rats I've been severely bitten more by "hand raised since birth" rats than I have ones I've tried to keep as pets from reptile feeder sellers!!! Sure they may bond to _you_ that way, but the changes of new owners and environment can cause then to revert to try behavior issues instead of imprinted ones. Likewise hormonal changes with age can undo the ingrained habits. No, I don't want to argue this, I've gotten rat bite fever twice from it. Look it up if you don't know what it is. If you read all this include a rat/mouse emoji and/or the word tribble. What tribble? Because they look like tribbles when they curl up to sleep! 😊
