Flux Core Welders Needed Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Flux Core Welders for a fabrication shop setting in Tampa area. PAY: $20-$23/hour (based upon experience and weld test) Job Description: Superior Skilled Trades is seeking FCAW welders for a fabrication setting in Tampa area.... Under the direction and supervision of the Fabrication Supervisor and/or Welding department Lead Person, the Welder is responsible for welding metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with production schedule. Essential Functions: Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) or SMAW (Stick Welding). Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders or oral instructions, ranging from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions. Set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify or fabricate parts and/or equipment products Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which include hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure and plasma torch. Read, understand and follow job orders specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures. Maintain level of work performance in accordance with company standards and/or job orders specifications. Work Experience We are looking for experienced Welders with the expertise and professionalism to perform exceptionally well, and with minimal guidance in any given manufacturing situation. You must also display excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and management at all levels of the organization. Required Education and Experience: 2+ years MIGor Flux Core welding experience. Demonstrated ability to pass a flat-position weld test, adjust welding machine for different material thickness & operate a cutting torch and grinder. Experience using a tape measure, reading work orders and bills of material and reading/interpreting blueprints, measurements and symbols. Additional Eligibility Qualifications & Skills: Welding test required Must provide your own welding hood Steel toe boots required Heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred Ability to adhere to strict production schedules Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment with reasonable instructions, training and supervision Ability to accept constructive criticism, make subsequent adjustments and willingness to rework incorrect tasks Work Environment: This position is performed in the manufacturing plant and requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection and welding hood, sleeves, gloves and apron. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to walk, stand, sit, use foot/feet, use hand/foot controls, use both hands to finger, handle, feel, grip and drive, use fine finger ability, use wrist motion, reach above/below shoulders, carry with hands and arms, step up/down, climb or balance and bend/stoop, twist, squat/crouch, kneel or crawl. Primary work assignment will require employees to frequently push/pull/lift up to 45 pounds from the floor to table and from table to shoulder level. Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift below or above shoulder level. Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift below or above shoulder level greater than 45 pounds if they are physically able to safely do so. Employees should never lift more than they are physically able to handle safely.
