Peaceful and scenic mostly car-free ride to explore this East River island at a gentle pace. Enjoy beautiful plantings, tidal marshes, a magnificent railroad truss, and skyline views across the water with the rising just-past-Beaver Moon guiding critters toward shelter. Optional quick crossing to the Bronx over the Bronx Kill. Social distance and lights required. Total distance approximately 7 miles. Meet on Randall's Island at the foot of the 103rd Street Footbridge. If coming from Manhattan, get to the bridge by going all the way east on 102nd Street (east of First Ave).
