JimBo Trout on Smiley's patio! Tickets are for a table on Smiley's patio for up to four people. In the event of rain, we will be moving the show inside, and tables will become first come first served instead of reserved (due to space limitations). We will also require proof of vaccination if we move inside, so please come prepared. We will let you know via email if we plan to move the show. JimBo’s music is a good-time gumbo of bluegrass, old-time, ragtime, blues, western-swing, rockabilly, honky-tonk country, jug band, jazz, swing, Cowboy, rock+roll, New Orleans, and more. But he would never let tradition stand in the way of a good time. Whether solo or with his band JimBo Trout and the Fishpeople an energetic, entertaining and engaging show will be a given. JimBo has developed a distinctive style on guitar, banjo and harmonica. His well-seasoned voice and jazzy timing add layers of texture, even to well-known songs. With well over 700 songs on his list he will surprise you with his range. His appeal extends to fans of traditional music as well as those with more modern tastes, young and old, and in-between. JimBo Trout has opened club dates with a wide range of top acts including Dr. John, Johnny Winter, David Bromberg, The Freighthoppers, Wayne Hancock, The Gourds, Hot Club of Cowtown, The Squirrel Nut Zippers, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Cake, Calexico, Doo Rag, The Iguanas, Riders In the Sky, Drew Emmitt, Dale Watson, Jeff Buckley, Peter Rowan, The California Honeydrops, Poor Man's Whiskey, The Waybacks, Mojo Nixon, Casey Driessen, and Southern Culture on the Skids among others. JimBo performs at festivals, street fairs, restaurants, nightclubs, concerts, cafes, weddings, dances retirement homes, and children's music events, averaging over 250 shows each year. He has performed at many top clubs and festivals in San Francisco and beyond including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, The Oregon Country Fair, Berkeley Old-Time Music Festival, The Crocker Museum (Sacramento), Bay Area Discovery Museum, The Great American Music Hall (11 times!), The Mystic Theatre, The Independent, Slim's, Bottom of the Hill, Freight and Salvage, the Ashkenaz, and the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival (10 times!). He has performed in eight countries. JimBo is also a popular children’s music entertainer, with two albums of music for kids—JimBo’s Jamboree (2017) and Jam Along With JimBo (2012).
