GRCA Lead Irrigation Technician Job Description This position is a member of the GRCA Maintenance operation and responsible for satellite and master irrigation systems oversight. This is a working position and requires a high level of irrigation skills, knowledge, systems layout, troubleshooting, (2) wire baseline and effluent systems. This position would manage and supervise all irrigation technicians ensuring sprinkler controllers are programmed correctly according to weather conditions, system checks are regularly performed, assist with trouble shooting faulty irrigation systems, follow up to ensure repairs are made correctly and on a timely basis. Familiar with the Guide for Arizona Desert, “Water Use it Wisely” and the ability to correctly manage water usage. This position orders irrigation supplies and track the use and stocking of such supplies. This position is responsible for all record keeping regarding program sheets, parts lists, effluent system, meter readings, valve box locations, water usage sheets, and ensure irrigation work tickets are processed in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for onsite and/or security phone support for on-call irrigation emergencies. Other functions performed or supported by the Lead Irrigation Technician are as follows:  Irrigation staff completes work tickets correctly and in a timely fashion with all relevant close out information.  Have dialogue with and communicate directly with the landscape supervisors to facilitate a productive irrigation maintenance operation.  Perform weekly inspections of all assigned satellite communities and master common areas regarding and perform an evaluation of the overall health of turf, plants, trees and flowers; inform the landscape manager of any corrections or adjustments needed in the irrigation schedule  Have or acquire the ability to maintain the effluent flush filter water systems.  Ensure all irrigation repair job sites are left in a clean, hosed-off and re-graveled condition.  Perform or oversight of all irrigation controllers to the watering schedule enumerated on the monthly program sheets.  This position requires a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and must pass a background check.
