SARASOTA, FL — Members of the Sarasota Police Department's Marine Patrol Unit were boating in local waterways when they saw something unusual as they entered New Pass Wednesday: someone swimming in the channel. Since this "is out of the norm" in those waters, the officers sprung to action, police shared in a Facebook post. They quickly realized that a jet skier and his puppy passenger were forced to "abandon their sinking ship," according to SPD. Like what you're reading? "Our officers scooped the two up and got them to safety," police said. "Let's raise the woof for our Marine PawTrol officers being in the right place at the right time."
