Press release from the City of Salem: November 3, 2021 Due to the Nor'easter storm in late October, the Salem Transfer Station (12 Swampscott Road in Salem) will open for extended hours on Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salem residents with proof of ID may drop off yard waste in a paper yard waste bag or dumped loose at the designated area on the site. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be accepted. Because of the large number of branches and tree limbs that fell due to the wind storm, the transfer station will accept branches greater than 2" in diameter for this weekend only.
