Description

Random thoughts keep invading my consciousness as I listen to the constantly changing dialogue about PFIZER, MODERNA and J&J. The word mandate seemingly is repeated endlessly. Then the controversial topic quickly jumps to proposed government edicts. I instantly become aware of the oft neglected appreciation for a joy in aging. No longer need I fret about the recommendations, both pro and con, regarding vaccines for a young child. No longer need I fear the future consequences rather than being optimistic about positive results for youngsters No longer need I view the recommendations of a highly publicized and political medical expert as infallible Then when my attention wanders to the current controversial government mandate eliminating human choice, I begin to wonder even more If I found myself in a burning building, (a structure similar to where I now live) Would I ask my rescuer (someone willing to lose his or her own life to save mine,) "Have you had the vaccine?" I instantly recall numerous occasions during my husband's lengthy illness, when caring and capable volunteers in Massapequa came to our aid. In today's controversial climate, would I be concerned if their health choices differed from mine? Would I reject their assistance if they disagreed with vaccine mandates from elected officials? Or would I be eternally grateful there are still men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Would I be willing to dispense with the protection of a Good Samaritan because he or she opted to take responsibility for their own body. Would I and more importantly, would You? And what will happen to us, if we do?????
