BRIDGEPORT, CT — A juvenile was charged in connection to the shooting of a 19-year-old victim, according to a statement from police. The 15-year-old juvenile suspect from Bridgeport was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, and additional felony charges, police said. Police responded to multiple calls regarding a shooting at the intersection of Trumbull Avenue and Reservoir Avenue on Wednesday just after 4 p.m. The victim, who had been waiting for his 9-year-old cousin to exit a school bus, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where he remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police found that the car involved in the crime was stolen out of Trumbull. Police located the car and attempted to stop it. The driver fled and officers pursued, eventually stopping the car on State Street. The 15-year-old driver was taken into custody and transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. A passenger, Carlos Matos, 19, attempted to flee on foot, but police found him hiding in a nearby backyard.
