RENTON, WA — Renton neighbors have an opportunity this weekend to help those in need this holiday season, and "Fill the Truck" at the Renton Community Center. Residents are invited to drop off hygiene items and non-perishable foods Saturday afternoon.
The Fall Harvest Food Drive is hosted by Renton's recreation division, and city staffers will be on hand to collect donations and help distribute them to local food banks.

Where: Renton Community Center (1715 Maple Valley Highway)When: Saturday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Later this month, the city will also host its annual free Thanksgiving dinner for seniors, with reservations accepted until Nov. 19.

Senior Thanksgiving Dinner: A Renton tradition for 27 years that even COVID-19 can't stop. As we did in 2020, city staff and community will combine with Sound Generations to prepare free Thanksgiving dinners. Meals are for adults 50 or over. Reservations are required for each individual and can be made from Nov. 1 to noon on Nov. 19. Make your reservation by calling 425-430-6633, visiting the Senior Activity Center, or online using code 10260. The number of meals is limited, so please register early. Meals can be picked up starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Senior Activity Center (211 Burnett Ave. N. 98057). The meals are delivered to your vehicle.
