BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline artist will have her work featured at this year's CraftBoston Holiday, the Northeast's premier juried craft show.
Debra Stewart, a master weaver who has produced fabrics for department stores, design houses, and private clients, will be selling her work in the art show, including products from her home accessory line Beyond the Fringes.
Stewart began her career during her studies at Emerson College, when she rescued an old handloom from an attic in Vermont and restored it to working condition. She now works in silk, Angora, alpaca, mohair, and exotic fibers including leather, paper, and gold.
The 2021 CraftBoston Holiday, presented by Boston's Society of Arts + Crafts, will remain completely virtual yet still offer plenty of one-of-a-kind and limited edition gifts. This year's show will run longer than ever before, opening November 12 and closing after January 30.
"By providing access to a well-respected destination show like ours, without the costs of booth rental, travel and lodging, CraftBoston Holiday offers artists an incredible opportunity to showcase their work to a nationwide audience without the overhead an in-person event requires," said Bridgitte Martin, Executive Director of Boston's Society of Arts + Crafts, in a statement. "As a result, we provide a supportive platform for a wider variety of artists to reach buyers and tell their stories."
The 2021 CraftBoston Holiday is shoppable at this link and will be fully live on opening day.
