Good Thursday morning Connecticut, There has been a lot of discussion about the colder temperatures this week, but in the good news department, we're looking at nothing but sunshine from today through next Wednesday. That is pretty good news. Temperatures also will rise into the low 60s by Monday and remain there through the middle of the week. Gov. Lamont to make an announcement regarding "Connecticut's COVID-19 safety protocols in schools." In a brief news release, Lamont's office said at 11:30 a.m. at Newington High School, the governor will "hold a news conference ... to announce an update to Connecticut's COVID-19 safety protocols in schools." No other details were provided about what Lamont will announce, but Patch will provide live coverage of the announcement. Teen killed in crash late Wednesday Connor Young, 16, of East Haddam, was killed after crashing a pickup truck into a tree in East Haddam around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to media reports, including NBC CT. Authorities said for some reason the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree. He died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. (Read more at NBC CT).
