Press release from the City of Ames: 11/03/2021 3:00 PM McKinley Drive from Van Buren Avenue to McKinley Court/Circle will be closed to traffic beginning Friday, Nov. 5, to allow reconstruction of the road. Access to McKinley Circle and McKinley Court will be open, but access to Van Buren Avenue from McKinley Drive will be closed. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts Inc. to complete this project, which includes pavement removal followed by ground preparation for paving operations. A new asphalt road and selected concrete driveways will be installed following this work. This project is expected to take eight to 10 days to complete. All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur.
