CONCORD, NH — A Loudon man is facing charges after being accused of statutory rape. According to a court affidavit in late August, a police sergeant in Loudon investigated a claim of statutory rape against Jason Carmichael, 22, of Oak Hill Road Loudon, involving a teenage girl. The officer heard about the claim and attended a forensic interview with the girl. During the interview, the girl said she rode four-wheelers, smoked marijuana, and ate food with Carmichael in late May, the affidavit stated. While interacting with him, he told the girl to use the name "Sarah" and to say she was 17 around his parents, the report said. He knew, however, that she was underage, the report said. The girl was supposed to go home because Carmichael's parents did not want her to stay at the residence but she accused him of saying it was fine if she stayed. After watching a movie, Carmichael and the girl cuddled on a bed which led to sexual activity, the report said. The affidavit stated they were together for four days. Carmichael was accused of video recording one of the sexual encounters. The victim claimed there were two videos but she was not allowed access to them. The sergeant filed an affidavit on Sept. 2. Six felony counts of felonious sexual assault, victim 13 to 15, charges were filed against Carmichael in Merrimack County Superior Court and he was arraigned on Sept. 7. On Oct. 27, Carmichael changed attorneys. He is due back in court for a dispositional conference on Dec. 20. Carmichael, according to a Patch police log from December 2020, was arrested in the city on simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, and criminal mischief charges after an incident in the Fisherville Road.
