Description
PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pirates-themed entertainment plaza and a new six-story apartment building are coming to the North Shore on a vacant parcel of land across the street from PNC Park.
Continental Real Estate Companies, the Columbus developer that has spearheaded development between PNC Park and Heinz Field since the demolition of Three Rivers Stadium 20 years ago, will brief the Pittsburgh Planning Commission on the project Tuesday.
The plaza will be at the intersection of West General Robinson Street and Mazeroski Way; the apartment building will be built adjacent to the Plaza and the corner of Mazeroski Way and North Shore Drive.
Renderings show the plaza will be Pirates-oriented. An existing garage will be decorated with what appears to be a mural or signing paying homage to former Bucs who have had their uniform numbers retired.
The apartment building will have more than 100 units with indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, as well as first-floor retail.
The cost of the project was not provided in planning commission presentation documents.
