Teaching credentials. Any info please

Hello. I'm looking at getting a single subject teaching credential for the state of California. I'm limited on funds, in my 50s. have a BA from SDSU 30 years ago and wishing to share knowledge, wisdom and inspiration with regards to sustainability and eco conservation etc. I did go online and do plenty of research but every place seems to want a chunk of money for a M.A etc. Was wondering if anyone knew of a streamlined way to make this happen. PS...I did teach some ESL years ago and loved it. But, without a functioning planet, we may not adapt well. All the best. Pavel
