So here we are,yet again. The afghans and those desperate for work people on the border can’t get here fast enough. It would appear that the vast vast majority of those who call themselves residence of our city(that are seeking work),at least in our experience, Need to brush up on their professionalism and credibility as a whole. Most of us who post Have been stung so many times,the reasons too numerous to mention, Find it increasingly difficult to try and treat people with the same respect that we wish they would treat us.Call us old school but if you’ve agreed to do something and you’re not able to make it then you call and leave a message or text explaining that you can’t make it. Plain and simple. Should you respond to a post that’s looking for a worker and all you can talk about in your response is your team or your partner,that’s a red flag And you’re not going to be taken seriously. It’s been said many times that our labor force is worn out,tired, Lazyand not to be trusted(no matter what the pay is). Whether that’s true or not is anyone’s guess. We’re probably too much idealist for our own good. Were told that on a daily basis that we need to realize what we’re dealing with and proceed from there. Is it poor parenting that didn’t teach their teenage children more responsibility when it came to employment? We don’t know. We know this much there is no way we’re related as far as having the same parents because we would have been beaten to death(back when you could be the child to make sure they got the point)Before their 19th birthday. My guess is if most parents knew what their kids were doing/behaving as far as work ethic Fromtheir children they would be mortified and have more than a few things to say. We are confident The response /reaction would not be complaining of How THEY were disrespected or discriminated against (in most cases )or a whole host of other excuses. We are a business that’s fair and that is equal opportunity no matter who you are. We try to treat each person like they are welcomed and appreciated And trying to give them a leg up. We are aware that the very vast majority of the people looking for work are people, we assume, Who are trying to turn their lives around.that excites us. We’re aware that most companies won’t hire people because of a past where better decisions should’ve been made. We know better. We don’t run background checks we don’t demand References. Our thinking is people Will jump at the opportunity to have that fear and burden lifted. Not to mention our flexibility with court dates and other Demands placed on them as they attempt to piece together their lives. Please appreciate this effort on our part and don’t abuse it. If you don’t want to be treated a certain way then don’t act in a questionable manner. Whether responding to our post or another postMake an effort like it matters.even if you’re not interested in the post And it’s just a way to make a few bucks. This should not be this difficult yet here we are. Until the immigrant thing is worked out and people who R searching seeking An honest days workAre able to legally and freely enter the job market and fill these positions, Please make your best effort at doing the right thing. We were told,often,You got to be tough with these people or they’ll take advantage of you. Unfortunately, though very difficult at times, you still have to treat people with respect until they prove that they are not worthy of it. Some are simply not up to anything good and they’re easy to spot. There is no feeling as good as running into or getting a call from somebody who worked for us years ago, give us an update on their lives and what they’re up to. When they Express gratitude for the chance and the opportunity that we gave them in their quest to turn their lives around… If we could bottle up that feeling and sell it we would be very wealthy people. Being reliable means doing what you say you’re going to do. Being responsible is making the best attempt at Doing the right thing, I E, using good judgment in all your actions.
