Job Summary If you are passionate about your work and driven by the desire to create a life full of purpose for our residents, a Cadence Living community may be the place for you. We have a current opening for a Maintenance Director who will be responsible for day to day physical plant operations of the community; manage preventative maintenance programs and supervise the facility department staff. Must have complete COVID vaccine documentation to be considered for hire. Must be willing to work Sunday through Thursday, occasional evenings and weekends as the needs of the community dictate. This is a working Director position - must possess demonstrable skills to perform routine maintenance in a Senior Living setting. Must also possess administrative and leadership skills to lead a team effectively, and to track the work being done through a web-based work order system (TELS). Become part of our family and find your Cadence. Responsibilities Hires, trains, and manages staff. Stocks and maintains the storeroom, order supplies according to the budget; works with various vendors. Receives, processes and addresses community maintenance work orders Maintain high standards of service Manages apartment turnover process. Ensures preventative maintenance program is in place and is being implemented. Diagnose and repair problems in such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware, masonry, painting, and water features. Performs and documents Life Safety processes (fire drills, elopement drills, other emergency drills) for all shifts 1 time per month as required by regulation. Qualifications Minimum three years' experience in managing apartment, senior living or large complex maintenance. Good customer skills; well-rounded technical maintenance skill set. Experience with HVAC, electrical, dry wall repair and texturing, carpentry, plumbing, painting and general maintenance. Ability to use general maintenance tools, supplies and equipment; participate in on-call rotation. Possesses a good sense of humor - having fun working with others while taking the work we do very seriously.
