Description
If yes to any above, do you sing?(lead or harmony) Do you like British Invasion, Traffic, early Beatles, Zombies, Animals, Police, actually too many to name. I'm seeking to form (for lack of a better term) a Rock & Roll "Lounge" band. Try to imagine Lake Street Dive mashed with Traffic.....a small, manageable group covering a wide variety of material. Big plus if percussion/drums is a "minimal" kit, even a cocktail kit.....no Neil Pearts, please. (great drummer, just not for this project) Sax is important, both as lead and support player. No charts, so must learn by ear and be able to take respectful direction. Bass should be low volume, non-busy, basic but solid player. In fact, this whole thing will attempt to bring both volume (loudness) and antics down a couple notches. I'm a guitarist/vocals/music director/arranger who's weary of playing with nice guys who just aren't on the same page.
For those to whom it matters, I'm on the west side of Ft Worth, and unless anyone has a better practice space, we'll just use my living room, at least to start. I don't even know if this idea is even viable, but I'm not just looking to fool around.....but to play out, either for money or true charities. I prefer when band members come to rehearsal prepared, and practice is spent, not "learning songs", but putting individual parts together. I'm not a drill sergeant, by any means, but am a little more disciplined than many musicians. Prefer non-smokers, no druggies, and no drinking at practice or gigs. If I haven't alienated you yet, email me and we'll discuss and see if we're compatible. Thanks.
