This position is for a generator technician for our branch in the Tampa Bay Area. Technicians will clock in and out at our branch, grab their calls for the day, and head out on the road servicing our customers 4-6 houses a day. Days worked will be Monday through Friday with off and on Saturdays trading for a weekday. This requires a lot of driving so you need a VALID Driver's license with little to no bad driving record. Otherwise our insurance will not take you. These generators are basically car engines so you will start off doing annual services including changing the oil, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, filling out the customer's paperwork, collecting money, and moving on to the next job. Eventually you would move up to be able to diagnose and repair generators as well. Training (paid) will take place at our Tampa location until you are ready to be in your own van. GenerX is a fast paced environment and requires you to be someone who is always early and ready to work. New hires should be able to come in every morning and have a good attitude towards co-workers and customers. We are quickly growing and in need of someone wanting to learn a new trade and grow with us. Everyone starts as a lube tech but we will send you to Generac schooling to get higher and higher certifications. There is lots of room to move up for people that put in their time and show us what they can do. This job is very independent and requires lots of responsibility to be out on your own all day, do your jobs, and use resources to work your way through tricky scenarios. It is a fun and freeing job with little supervision if you can prove you are responsible enough for it.
