Old Soul Society is a Wisconsin-based act that is rooted in Americana with branches into Folk, Rock, Soul, Blues, Roots & more. Fronted by Singer/ Songwriter Derek Ramnarace on Vocals & Guitars and featuring a cast of top notch musicians, Old Soul Society’s focus is clearly on the craft of songwriting as displayed in the rich, textured musical layers they create to underscore Ramnarace’s introspective, honest and heartfelt lyrics. These details combine into a powerfully stirring live performance that has been winning over audiences everywhere. They have appeared on the same bill under such acts as Phil Lesh, Kaleo, Kory Wong, Dead Horses, Samantha Fish, Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts, Chicago Farmer, Them Coulee Boys and were contracted by Live Nation to appear in the VIP Lounge for Zac Brown Band at Alpine Valley Amphitheater. The star is already burning bright for Old Soul Society and only appears to be getting brighter as the band prepares to head into the studio this winter to record the follow up to the release of their debut album “The Farmhouse Sessions” and the official release of their authorized bootleg titled “A Live One” in Dec 2021. High & Rising : Out of the northern midwest and the banks of the mighty Mississippi River grew this “Groovy Grass” band of music makers. High & Rising most often plays as a trio, with a unique combination of instruments that bring a fresh groovy sound to the Bluegrass & Folk American scene. Beautiful Buzz: John Swamy// guitar, vocals John Swamy is the front-man and creator of the group Happy Ashtray. He has been playing music in Wisconsin and the Chicago area for over 20 years. He enjoys the simplicity of Beautiful Buzz and the way the harmonies come together so beautifully. Susan Thiede// vocals Susan Thiede has been singing in bands since her college days. She was formally in the band The Green Mountain Rebels out of Eau Claire, WI. Susan loves singing in an indie duo. She also loves the opportunity to write and perform music with John. Their voices blended together are musical magic.
