Hello! Do you see hungry cats everywhere you go? Are you sad for them but afraid that if you feed them, they'll just reproduce? We understand. AND we have a solution where everybody wins! Save Maui Cats is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to helping the cats on Maui - and the people who care about them! By humanely reducing the number of homeless cats, and providing food and water to the cats already here, everybody wins. Simply put...Once a homeless cat is fixed (spayed or neutered) it is returned to its healthy "colony" where it only needs food and water, but will no longer reproduce, thereby decreasing overpopulation. Colony cats are awesome, they work as a team to keep other (unfixed) cats out and get to live out their lives without creating more unwanted kittens. We also work hard to get many cats and kittens adopted into loving homes. We are looking for animal lovers to join us on our incredible mission. Come join us. Meet some awesome new friends, do something good for the world and keep Maui a paradise for all. You can help as little or often as you like, we will happily work with whatever time you have. Here's what we need: Feeders - Feed colony cats on the Westside. Feeding is done in the evenings and takes 3-4 hours per night. Choose which days you want to work! This is a paid position. Cat food and training supplied, just bring your good heart and love for Maui's homeless, hungry, and forgotten cats. ♥ We also need volunteers... Volunteer Transport - Drivers to pick up cat food and /or drive cats to and from The Maui Humane Society in Kehei. Volunteer Trappers - Volunteers to set and monitor traps to ensure cats' safety (Evenings only. We will train you.) Recovery Rooms - A quiet room (Laundry, Bedroom, Bathroom, etc) where recently fixed cats can rest before being reunited with their colony (24-48 hours) Thank you!
