Join us for a night of poetry, drinks, and fun! The Whisper Room loves to present Pour It & Poet to allow the Lafayette to come together and celebrate poets and poetry while enjoying delicious drinks! At 7pm, the night will begin with a reading by local poets, Alyssa Beckitt, Tori Fontenot, and Dylan Kreiger. Following these wonderful artists, the stage will open up to volunteers for an open mic session. Although the night is primarily dedicated to poetry, other artists should feel free to perform during the open mic portion. This is a night that allows people to come together and celebrate the human experience, so all attendees are expected to give the performers respect and encouragement. More than just a local bookstore, Beausoleil Books hopes to bring the Acadiana community closer and create space for togetherness.
