Description
Do you feel unsatisfied with the quality of your neighborhood?
Are you thinking about leaving NYC?
Don't move. Improve!
Become a volunteer community organizer and work towards the socioeconomic well-being and improvement of your neighborhood.
Add meaning to your life by feeling a sense of value in helping others find fulfillment and happiness.
To be a community organizer, you have to make it an important aspect of your life. If you are serious about what you believe in, then you will sacrifice the time to work on a volunteer basis with and for others who share the same passion for community improvement as you.
This is not for someone who wants to "squeeze" in an hour or two a week. Being a community organizer has to become a significant part of your life, which means time, sacrifice, and dedication.
Working in teams, you will identify, plan and prepare initiatives for:
1) Sidewalk and street cleanups
2) Partnerships with local businesses
3) Housing improvement and development
4) Social services
4) Food and clothing pantries
5) Block parties and events
