Join Desert Door and Confituras for a fun evening of learning all about wild handcrafted Sotol cocktails!
Join us in welcoming our friends from Desert Door, makers of Sotol made from wild harvested plants, along with Confituras Little Kitchen to learn all about Wild Handcrafted Holiday Sotol Cocktails! In this hands-on class we’ll cover the making and history of Sotol, hear all about the Desert Door story (it’s a good one!) and learn how to craft delicious locally-sourced cocktails and handmade sodas using classic recipes and variations with a wild twist for all of your upcoming holiday soirees. Think prickly pear, sorghum, chile pequin, south texas orange blossom honey, ruby red grapefuit, elderflower, sumac, hibiscus, and more! We’ll walk you through the steps of selecting syrups, shrubs, fresh juices, salt/sugar rimmers, and foraged garnishes and send you off with a cocktail goodie bag to recreate them at home!
During class we'll sample some fun and refreshing seasonal homemade sodas and cocktails - heavy snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic as well!) will be provided.
This class is taught by Desert Door Staff and Stephanie McClenny, fruit wrangler and owner at Confituras Little Kitchen.
