Boiler not working, we need someone to fix it asap

HB Smith boiler, red light is on, friend said it means a short in the wiring or maybe in the igniter Someone said the water pressure may be too low, but it's about 10 or 12 PSI. I can't tell if the tank above the boiler has water. It sounds hollow, but it's hard to tell. The boiler was possibly working a week or two ago, but only for a day Can a handyman come soon?
