Deaf pit bull mix?

Meatball is a deaf pit bull mix according to the shelter we adopted him from. Unfortunately he’s not a good fit with us. We don’t want to return him to the shelter. He’s very sweet but he is not small animal friendly. No cats. Puppies. Small dogs. Birds. We’d love for him to go to someone who has deaf dog experience. We didn’t know he wasn’t small animal friendly, we already had a parrot when we adopted him. We’ve had him for a little over a year (he’s had plenty of time to adjust) he just isn’t a fit for our home. We love him dearly however he isn’t safe to have in our home.
