Senior Maintenance Worker – Wastewater Plant Wastewater Division Public Works Department Application deadline: Wednesday, November 24, 2021 Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online One permanent full time position available Full salary range: $62,046.40 – $78,728.00 Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Includes on call every 7 weeks Job summary: Under direction, serves as a group leader in maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, valves, gauges and general equipment in wastewater treatment processes. Coordinates information between lab, operations and sewer collections. Minimum qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body required plus three years of experience in wastewater including two years in a supervisory capacity required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Iowa DNR Grade II Wastewater Operator's license required. Iowa DNR Grade III Wastewater Operator's license required within 2 years of appointment. Must live within 17 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Valid Iowa Class B commer¬cial driver’s license with air brake and tank endorsement with satisfactory driving record required. Valid Iowa Class A commer¬cial driver’s license required within 6 months of hire. This position is subject to federal drug testing requirements including screening through the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A pre-employment drug screen is required. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: Supervisory experience in wastewater plant maintenance preferred. Iowa DNR Grade IV Wastewater Certification preferred.
