Human Remains Detection (HRD) Night Operations Workshop
The Scentsable K9 is excited to announce a Human Remains Detection (HRD) Night Operations Workshop in Temecula, California!
This will be a workshop on how to properly and safely use light to add you and your K9 partner during night / near darkness in open area deployments. Searches may included farms, vineyards, canyons, industrial, open areas. If you've never worked during the night or darkness, this will a great way to challenge and enhance your skill set. It's a very different world at night!
We will go over the pros and cons of various equipment such as flashlights, headlamps, beacons, reflective vests, glow sticks, and strobe lights.
**Please bring at least 1 flashlight and any other items you want to try out**
Your instructor- Pete Stevens- retired from law enforcement after 31 years. During his career, Pete handled 4 dogs both for patrol and detection. Pete is a K9 team evaluator for California Peace Officer Training and Standards (CA POST) , Certifying Official for the California Narcotic Canine Association (CNCA) and a Board Member of CNCA. Pete is also a Trial Judge for NACSW.
**CLASS SIZE WILL BE LIMITED TO 8 K9 TEAMS**
**K9 Handler's will be required to wear all of their gear as if this were an actual deployment**
