Description

Moon Hikes are back at Harvest Preserve! After a long break, Harvest Preserve and Turkeyfoot Folk School are back hosting a full moon hike this month! The November Full Moon, also known as the Beaver Moon is set to rise on Friday, November 19th. Please plan to arrive at Harvest Preserve around 5:30. We will promptly begin hiking to the Stone Circle around 5:45. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring snacks and water as necessary, and have a flashlight or headlamp handy as it will quickly turn dark during the hike. Please also assess your ability to hike on uneven ground in the dark for a distance that totals about a mile. This is a free-will donation event, so please register as we have to limit the number of attendees in order to respect physical distancing guidelines and to preserve the integrity of the trails and the peaceful nature of the hike. . . it also increases our chances of hearing the owls and coyotes! Because this is an outdoor event, masks are not required but are recommended for those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and are unable to stay six feet from other participants. Donations will help fund future programming for both organizations - thank you! Please note: in the event of inclement weather or poor trail conditions, this event may be canceled. You will receive advance notification as soon as we make the decision to cancel.
