The Shipping and Receiving Operator will be expected to but not limited to:
• Perform shipping and receiving duties.
• Must mark traceability on all incoming material labeling the purchase order number, heat number, job number and description of material (Flat bar ¼ x 3” A36).
o This includes labeling each end of every linear piece
• Fill out receiving inspection form, attached receiving paperwork and turn in to document control.
• Maintenance on forklifts and all vehicles (checking fluids and fuel levels) twice a week
• Keep yard clean of debris and trash always
• Set up and maintain job specific material racks that remain labeled and easily identifiable.
• Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor and Quality.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand always.
• Required to forward a requisition for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.
• Maintain the work area and equipment and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Pick-ups and deliveries of parts and raw materials using a company vehicle as requested by management.
• Unload material received into the yard
• Safely move material to storage location
• Safely stack or store material in storage location
• By request, locate and pull material from location
• Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner
• Check forklift on daily basis prior to start of shift (lights, horn, etc)
