Begin work as a Nursery Attendant / Planting Crew Member NOW! "Our temps will be working at our nurseries, or on our trucks. Duties include: Digging Moving merchandise Watering Trimming Truck preparation for delivery Lift up to 50 pounds Job description The Planting Crew performs manual labor to assist in the upkeep, stocking and fulfillment of customer orders in the landscape nursery. Must be comfortable working in the freshest air on earth; in sunny, hot, dry and maybe dusty conditions; able to follow specific instructions; work in a team environment; and be in good physical condition (repeated lifting and pulling), surrounded by beautiful plants and trees all day, every day! This position requires the use of all hand tools necessary to Plant and fully install large trees and plants in customer homes or businesses. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Maintaining, pruning, raking, thinning, weeding, transplanting, watering, shipping, and loading trees and plants in a retail nursery environment in full view of customers, using hand tools and gardening tools. • General duties around the nursery as they relate to the upkeep of the nursery. • Removing and pruning trees, dragging limbs, clearing debris, raking, and cleaning up the retail nursery • Maintaining and operating various equipment and vehicles in a safe, clean, professional manner. • Hauling and mixing topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition soil, using hand tools. • Digging, raking, and screening soil and filling buckets and boxes to prepare them for planting. • Learning and performing proper pruning skills and merchandising of plants and products. • Learning and performing proper watering, fertilizing, spraying & maintenance of boxed plants. • Sprays, weeds, and waters plants, shrubs, and trees, using hand tools and gardening tools • Moves containerized shrubs, plants, and trees manually or with equipment. • Load and unload semi-trailers, flatbed trucks, and customer vehicles. • Learning and following all safety protocols and procedures for a retail nursery. • Utilizing all required personal protective equipment. • Planting Trees and plants in customer homes/businesses. • Contribute to training new Moonies as directed and/or needed • Performing other duties and tasks as assigned.
