Learn to make mosaics with artist, teacher and region 4 member, Erin Welsh!
Participants will learn step-by-step methods in making tile mosaics and make a small mosaic to take back to their classroom. We will discuss materials, suppliers, processes and how to begin a collaborative mosaic project in your school or make an individual mosaic for yourself.
Materials will be provided. You can bring any chipped or broken ceramic plates, cups or tiles to use as well.
We will be working on small, square mosaics, so any design ideas based on a square format. Radial designs might work well. Any chipped or broken ceramic dishes can be nipped into tiles. You can also bring any small ceramic tiles you have made in your classroom, preferably glazed pieces. Please bring ideas for what you'd like to make!
If the weather is nice, we might work outside, so bring a jacket and perhaps a camp chair.
A light breakfast/brunch from Panera will be provided. Please email Sue, [email protected], if you have any dietary restrictions.
Participants will receive 5 hours of Act 48 credit.
Please bring your mask.
