Sweet Mama's Ice Cream has joined with the Tampa Downtown Partnership (TDP) to open a location at The Square at Lykes Gaslight Square Park located at 241 East Madison Street. The location is open 7 days a week. The partnership with TDP gives Sweet Mama's a fixed location with access to downtown Tampa's workforce, visitors, and residents. (Tampa Patch) 2. Tampa's Carole Baskin has sued Netflix over "Tiger King 2." Baskin says she didn't sign on for a sequel. The new season premieres on November 17th. The Baskins are suing Netflix for $100,000 in damages. (Tampa Bay Times) 3. The University of Florida (UF) could be facing an accreditation probe after banning professors from testifying against the state and Governor Ron DeSantis. Under national scrutiny, UF announced that its political science professors would be allowed to testify as plaintiffs' witnesses if they don't get paid or use school resources. (Creative Loafing Tampa) 4. Metropolitan Ministries will open its Holiday Tents on November 8th and begin collecting donations for the holidays. Changing East Tampa: City of Tampa has released plans for new city center building on Hanna Avenue in East Tampa. It would bring several departments under one place. The new building would also increase the value of East Tampa's neighborhoods with new community resources, one goal for the city. Tampa's City council is set to vote on paying to build the new city center on Thursday. Construction on the project is expected to be complete by spring 2023.
