PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Town of North Hempstead residents hit the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in their local elections. The polls closed at 9 p.m. on Long Island. And the unofficial vote tallies have rolled in to determine numerous key races — including the office of the county executive, Nassau district attorney, and seats on the North Hempstead Town Board. All 19 county legislative seats are also up for grabs this election cycle, including districts 10 and 11. According to unofficial vote tallies from Nassau County's election board, Jennifer DeSena — a Republican and Manhasset resident — appears poised to win the Town's supervisor race against Democrat and current Town clerk Wayne Wink. Below are the unofficial results for both the Town of North Hempstead and Nassau County races. Those seemingly in the lead have an asterisk next to their name. O'Connell (Republican): 161,648 votes; 63.34% Justin R.
