NORTHPORT, NY — Mustachio and Pustachio, 3-month-old bonded brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week. A kind man found them in his yard and rescued them, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the cat rescue. "These 2 boys are very special," Wild wrote in an email. "Aside from their incredibly adorable facial markings, they are the mushiest lovebugs we have seen in a while. They melt in your arms and crave affection. As much as they love each other, their contentment comes from all available cuddles." Mustachio was the runt of the litter, according to Wild. "When he came to our rescue he was covered in fleas, his face barely recognizable," Wild said. "Cleaned up and fostered with love, he warms everyone's heart when he sits on their lap and gazes in their eyes. He is very intuitive to those who need extra love and will sit and cuddle for hours. He loves playing with toys and boxes and will play fetch with anyone who is willing for as long as they want to play." Pustachio will follow people to their room to cuddle, Wild said. "You can call for him from across the house and he will come running! Every day he waits patiently in front of a window waiting for his foster family to come home and greets them at the door. He is an observer and is fascinated by the dishwasher. Loves toys and will make any object into one." The two kittens like to cuddle and hug each other, as they are very bonded, Wild said. They love the other cats they are being fostered with, too. Wild would like to see them adopted together. "This is an amazing duo, and they need a very loving home together," she said. "Any family that adopts them will smile every day just looking at their sweet and silly faces, we promise." Mustachio and Pustachio are neutered, have all their shots, are litter-box trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative. If you are interested in meeting Mustachio and Pustachio, you can head to the Northport Cat Rescue Association website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet them or any of the other kittens and cats.
