Position Summary: IEC is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to work at our 176-unit apartment community in Union City, California. The Maintenance Technician must have experience working in an apartment community and strong communication and follow-up skills, both with residents and other team members. Self-starter, work well with a team, take initiative as well as ability to take direction from others. The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-5pm and requires the ability to be on-call in case of emergency. General Responsibilities: • Maintaining cleanliness of property grounds and all common areas. • Assisting with performing unit turns and unit rehabs. Duties include replacing blinds, outlet cover plates, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, closet doors, and basic unit repairs. • Maintains order at workstations and management’s storage area. • Manage inventory for basic building supplies such as light bulbs, paint, building equipment. • Move boxes, supplies, furniture, and equipment, within building and to off-site locations. • Availability for on-call responsibility for after-hours emergencies required. • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work area. • Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. • Demonstrating customer services skills by treating residents and others with respect, responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services and cleanliness of the community. • Ad-hoc assignments as needed. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent. • At least 2-3 years of maintenance, facilities, and/or handy-man experience. • Ability to take direction from supervisor and complete tasks on time and in an efficient manner. • Must be customer service oriented. • Possess basic computer skills. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Renovation and janitorial experience a plus.
