2 Killed In Head-On Crash In Wallingford: Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — Two people were killed in a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon in Wallingford, according to police. The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. on Barnes Road (Route 68) near North Farms Road in Wallingford, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques. The victims were identified as Prabhudas Patel, 83, of Wallingford, and Stephanie Napolitano, 46, of Meriden, according to Jaques. They were both taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where they later died, Jaques said. An investigation found that Patel was operating a 2014 Subaru Forester Wagon eastbound on Route 68 when it collided with a 2022 Hyundai Tuscon SUV that was being driven by Napolitano and heading westbound on Route 68, according to Jaques. Traffic was affected for several hours as police investigated the crash, Jaques said. Police are continuing to investigate the crash and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Christian Evans at 203-294-2819.
