EAST HAMPTON, NY — Voters made their voices heard in East Hampton Tuesday, electing incumbent Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyac to another term. Van Scoyoc, a Democrat, secured 2,831, or 46.88 percent, of the votes, compared to Jeffrey Bragman, who ran on the Independence line, who scored 1,702 votes, or 28.18 percent. Republican and Conservative candidate Jeffrey Walles garnered 1,504 votes, or 24.90 percent. Democrats won the race for East Hampton Town board, with Cate Rogers receiving 3,289 votes, or 28.66 percent, and Kathee Burke-Gonzalez garnering 3,276 or 28.54 percent. GOP challenger Joseph Karpinski received 1,837 votes or 16.01 percent, and Republican George Aman had 1,682 votes, or 14.66 percent. Independence candidate Joseph Whelan received 1,302 votes. Dems swept the East Hampton trustee race, with nine, including James Grimes, Francis Block, Susan McGraw-Keber, William Taylor, David Cataletto, Benjamin Dollinger, Tim Garneau, John Aldred and Michael Martinsen elected to serve. Candidates for Town Clerk Carol Brennan, Highway Superintendent Stephen Lynch, Town Justice Steven Tekulsky, and Assessor Eugene De Pasquale ran unopposed. For full election results, click here.
