Here's are some events we think you might enjoy: Dia de los Muertos, Arts Council of Princeton: Learn more about Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead - a day observed in Mexico, where family and friends gather to remember and honor those who have died. The Arts Council of Princeton is organizing various events to promote understanding of this holiday. On Saturday, Nov. 6, the community is invited to an event that will include strolling mariachis, sugar skull decorating, folk arts and crafts, and delicious food in this family-friendly, free afternoon event. Croquet - A Rock Opera, 952 Alexander Road, West Windsor: West Windsor Arts is organizing a rock opera based on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Vaughan Burton, performed by Dream of Maya. This concert will benefit West Windsor Arts. The concert is scheduled for Nov. 6, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $25 for non-member, $20 for members. New Jersey Youth Symphony, Patriots Theater at War Memorial, Trenton: On Sunday, Nov. 7, the New Jersey Youth Symphony will play a concert honoring veterans. The uplifting concert will feature music by American composers including Bernstein, Coleridge-Taylor, Hailstork, Gould, and more. Sing along to the "Armed Forces Medley" and "America the Beautiful." The concert will also feature Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait" narrated by Diana Solomon-Glover. For tickets and more details, click here. Northern Saw-whet Owl Branding, Watershed Institute, Hopewell Township: On Saturday, Nov. 6,learn about Northern Saw-whet Owls and what local researchers are doing to study and conserve these tiny predators. Tyler Christensen, an ornithologist with the Wild Bird Research Group, has been conducting field research on the Watershed Reserve for several years. Join Tyler to see how he captures, measures, and bands the owls. For ages 8 and up. Click here for more details. Movie Screening, Hopewell Theatre, 5 South Greenwood Avenue: Dedza Films presents an anthology of nine curated short films, "Who will Start Another Fire." The festival features stories from Nigeria, Uganda, The Philippines, Israel, and more. This program is a part of Hopewell Theater's ongoing series, The Art of Living Well, featuring inspiring films, speakers, and interactive discussions exploring ways of cultivating serenity, meaning, and a deeper connection to one's self and the world.
