SAN DIEGO, CA — A 34-year-old zip line course operator died two days after he fell from a platform while trying to assist a customer, officials said.
Banning resident Jaoquin Romero, an employee of the La Jolla Indian Campground, was trying to help receive a person who had just completed a zip line when he fell, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office said in a release.
Romero survived the fall and taken by helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital's emergency department. He arrived "pulseless" and was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation, officials said.
He was diagnosed with multiple blunt force injuries.
Romero was given a poor prognosis, prompting family members to place him on comfort care until he was pronounced dead on Monday, officials said.
